Seronera Valley
Seronera is the true heart of the Serengeti — a broad valley where the Seronera River cuts through the landscape, creating permanent water sources that draw wildlife year-round. This is the most reliable area in the entire Serengeti for predator sightings: leopards habituate to the riverine figs and are seen with remarkable regularity, and lion prides concentrate along the river. The flat, open terrain makes game easy to spot, and the central location makes every other part of the park accessible as a day drive.

Moru Kopjes
The Moru Kopjes are a cluster of ancient granite boulders rising from the short-grass plains south of Seronera — one of the most dramatic landscapes in the Serengeti. The kopjes provide perfect habitat for leopards, who den in the rocky crevices, and lions who rest in their shade during the heat of the day. During the green season, the area around Moru is spectacularly beautiful, with wildflowers dotting the plains. The kopjes also have significant cultural history — there are ancient rock paintings nearby.

Naabi Hill & The Southeastern Plains
Naabi Hill marks the main entrance to the Serengeti from the Ngorongoro Conservation Area — a ridge of rocky outcrop that serves as a transition zone between the highland ecosystem and the open savannah. The southeastern plains extending from Naabi are vast, open, and in certain seasons (December–March) home to enormous concentrations of game as the wildebeest calving grounds extend into this area. The landscape is characterised by rolling short-grass plains with occasional isolated kopjes.

Central Acacia Woodland
The central Serengeti's acacia woodland — sometimes called the V plains or the Togoro corridor — is a transition zone between the open plains and the more rocky northern terrain. The distinctive flat-topped acacias are quintessentially African, and the shade they provide draws giraffes, elephants, and a variety of birds. This area is less visited than Seronera despite excellent wildlife because it lacks the dramatic topography of the kopjes. For guests seeking genuine solitude within the park, the central woodland rewards.
